QuickTime
QuickTime is the default movie player that comes standard on Mac OS X. It is powered by the QuickTime framework, the same framework that powers the built-in iFlicks movie player. It supports a wide variety of video codecs, including QuickTime (.mov), MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, 3GPP, 3GPP2, and Pixlet.
RealPlayer
RealPlayer, made by RealNetworks, enables the playback of RealMedia and RealVideo files, in addition to many others. RealPlayer also gives you access to premium programming and radio content.
Windows Media Player
Windows Media Player by Microsoft opens up the world of Windows Media content to Macintosh users. Windows Media Player for Mac OS X has been designed specifically for the Macintosh platform.
MPlayer OS X
MPlayer OS X is the binary distribution of MPlayer, an open source movie player. It comes with a native Mac OS X user interface. It plays almost all video codecs in windowed or full screen mode. Rendering of anti-aliased subtitles is also supported.
VLC
VLC is a highly portable open source multimedia player for various audio and video formats (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, MP3, OGG, etc.) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols.
