QuickTime Components
iFlicks extensively uses the powerful QuickTime media framework that is built in to Mac OS X. If you want to get the most out of iFlicks and QuickTime, you'll need the latest QuickTime components. These components are entirely optional, but if you have them, they enable support for even more video formats.
DivX (FREE!)
DivX for Mac is a free codec built to play every version of DivX content ever created. In addition, the DivX component enables top-notch support for AVI files, which is a common format for video created on Windows systems.
MPEG-2 ($19.99)
The QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component from Apple allows QuickTime to recognize video files that use the MPEG-2 codec. Even though this codec has been superceded by MPEG-4, there are still many movies available in MPEG-2 format.
